FINAL EXAMINATION
Two comprehensive final examinations, consisting of randomly generated
questions.
NOTE: The final examinations are requirements for course completion.
Students who wish to become a licensed mariner WILL be required to
complete four USCG approved examination modules at one of our approved
examination sites.
The certificate issued after successfully completing these examinations
must be submitted to the USCG Regional Examination Center within
one year along with all the application paperwork required by the USCG.
We
also recommend student’s purchase Maritime Institute’s “Guide to Rules
of the Road” study aid. These items can all be purchased from our Ship’s Store or any number of marine supply stores.
The Navigation Rules (International - Inland), is included on the CD
containing the course reference material and is accessible online. Some
students choose to purchase the Navigation Rules book since it is a
requirement to carry the book on vessel over 12 meters on inland waters.
PLEASE
NOTE: Completion of the course alone DOES NOT automatically assure you
will receive a U.S.C.G. License. There are a number of U.S.C.G.
requirements which must be met before an applicant is eligible for the

If you intend to get the license, you must submit an application and
all appropriate paperwork to the USCG for approval. This can be
accomplished before or after completion of the online course. Click
